If you are a successful applicant, you will attend the Maryland State Police Training Academy in Sykesville, Maryland. You must successfully complete each step to move on in the process. You will spend two weeks with the Firearms Training Unit mastering both the Glock Model 22 .40 caliber handgun and a patrol shotgun. As a State Trooper, you can pursue a wide range of career opportunities where you can use your unique strengths and talents to serve the citizens of Maryland. Following satisfactory completion of field training, you will begin independent patrol activities.
